Antique Fidelity Trust Vault Counting House Cast Iron Bank J. Barton Smith Co NR.. Made by the J. Barton Smith & Co, during the late 19. Century, this antique Cast Iron Bank is called the Fidelty Trust Vault Counting House. It measures 6 5/8″ tall by 5″ by 5 ½ and has a wonderful old iron surface. On three sides there are banker’s windows, two of which show a dog, and on the fourth side is a clock-face, which you would set to a specific time to unlock the bank. We found that this bank will unlock when the hour hand is at the 6. When we opened it up we found that the second disc-part to the inside of the locking mechanism has been broken, but we still have the pieces! Because this piece is not attached, the minute hand on the clock-face does not stay set. The original paper clock face has been missing for many years and, this bank originally had a pull-out drawer inside, which is also missing. There are no other problems or any restorations to this 19thC Fidelity Trust Vault Bank. We are always looking for quality Antique Banks to list and you never know what you might find listed without any reserve! We promise to list only the very best antiques and collectibles, and we also promise to describe every flaw and detail.
