Antique 19thC Kyser & Rex Cast Iron Monkey Cat & Dog Organ Mechanical Bank NR. In our last photograph you can see 4 antique Cast Iron Mechanical Banks that we will be listing tonight. Each bank will be listed separately, without any reserve. Measuring 7 1/2″ tall by 5 1/4″ wide and 4 deep, this next 19th century Cast Iron Mechanical Bank was made by Kyser & Rex. It is called the “Organ Bank” and depicts a Monkey, a cat and a dog, sitting on top of an Organ. The monkey has his hat in one hand and a paddle in the other. When the handle is turned on the side a bell rings and the monkey drops a coin from the paddle into the slot in front of him. We were able to get this bank to work properly however, the monkey gets stuck in “finished” position, with the paddle in the air and his hat behind him. The cat & dog revolve and the bell rings, but the mechanics are all a bit forced. In our close-up photographs you can see that there is some wear to the original paint, as well as an old stable hairline to the top back edge of the organ.
