With all Stevens banks the quality of the paint is one of the best indicators of the value. Stevens didnt use any primer when they produced their banks. So the paint didnt want to stick as well if they had used primer. So the value of these banks do command a higher price if they still have most of the original paint. This great antique mechanical bank designed by Charles G. Shepard and Peter Adams Jr. Retains approximately 80% of its all original paint, works very well, and is sure to delight its new owner.
