Here is a rare piece to add to your antique mechanical bank collection. These elephants were manufactured by the Enterprise Manufacturing company of Philadelphia, PA in the 1880s. It stands 5.25″ tall and 6.25″ in length. It has a wooden man in the howdah. When a coin is placed in the elephant’s mouth, the lever will make the trunk come down to push it inside while simultaneously making the man to pop out of the howdah. Unfortunately, the howdah lid and lever are both missing. The piece is also missing its original paint. The elephant body is in good condition and could be restored. Feel free ato ask questions.
