“Jolly Ngger” mechanical bank manufactured sometime in the1880’s by John Harper Co. The bank measures 6. 1/5 tall x 5. Wide and is in very good condition for a piece this old: there are no missing parts, no cracks or breaks or other damage, no repairs, and no repaint (The bolt holding the two sides together does appear to be a replacement, though). It is in excellent working order (see pics), and would make a great addition to collectors of mechanical banks or black memorabilia. Don’t let this one get away!
