Antique Circa 1890’s Cast Iron Bad Accident Mechanical Bank by Charles A. Bailey
Here is an antique circa 1890’s cast iron Bad Accident mechanical bank designed by Charles A. Bailey and manufactured by the J. Stevens Company of Cromwell, Conn. The bank measures 6.5″high X 10″wide X 3deep. It is marked by the donkey Bad Accident. It features an African American man eating watermelon and sitting in a wagon pulled by a donkey with a little boy behind a bush. The bank doesn’t work from what I can tell and the rider is broken off (pictured). Please examine all the pictures carefully for the exact condition of the bank.
