Antique J&E Stevens Cast Iron Always did’spise a mule Mechanical Bank 1897. For your consideration is this Wonderful Antique 1897 J&E Stevens Cast Iron Mechanical Bank, inscribed with the words ” I always did’spise a Mule”. Marked underneath Pat’d APR 27 1897. The paint is bright and vibrant but lost in several areas. Craftmanship and detail is wonderful. The mechanical function works perfect. Put a coin underneath the boy’s bench and depress the button on the ground underneath the mule… The Mule swivels and kicks the boy back… And the coin is deposited into the bank slot! Please Note: The metal coin stopper is missing. Measures 10 1/8″ L x 2 3/4″ W by 6 tall (top of mule’s head). Overall this is in “Excellent” condition! Operates as it should.
