I’m a little puzzled. Both are “Lost Dog”. I encourage you to look up the other bank and compare it to this one… They even have the same chip at the very front of the base. Look at the details. Look at the lines on the base above and below LOST DOG. Look at the lettering itself. Notice the detail of the hair and the open space between the tail and back legs on this one while the other is filled in. Maybe they made two versions… I don’t know. I can honestly say that I’m not an expert and if anyone in the know can verify authenticity or not, please do. This bank is 5 3/8 inches high and was found in an estate that was generations old. In my research I have found a mechanical variation of this bank that was made from an original still bank. The mechanism was added later as these banks were never made as mechanical, but the original still bank looked exactly like this one, with the crisp lettering and lines above and below LOST DOG on the base. I encourage you to do your research as I believe this to be an original. Feel free to ask questions. I have been assured that my bank is the real thing.
