Rare J. & E. Stevens Artillery Cast Iron Mechanical Bank NO RES (DAKOTApaul)
Stevens “Artillery” Cast Iron Mechanical Bank NO RES. This week I’m listing a few very nice cast iron banks – both still and mechanical See the last picture for the group. To view the others. Here is the Painted version of the Artillery Bank. Designed by Charles Germany. Shepard & Peter Adams, Patent No. D-21,594 on 5/31/1982. The coin is placed in the cannon and hammer is then pushed back, as the right arm moves into a horizontal position, press the lever and the coin is fired into the tower, paper caps may also be used. Unfortunately this one was broken and repaired at the seam of the tower (see pics). It affected the paint in that area but not its action, as the bank worked fine. The Union figure is in very good shape as pictured. No other breaks or cracks. I believe the trap is a replacement. Don’t miss, and please ask any questions.
