1888 All Original Trick Dog Cast Iron Mechanical Bank Strong First Paint No Res
This is the six-part base variation produced by Shepard Hardware, manufactured in Buffalo N. And patented on July 31, 1888. The rarest and most desirable of the Trick Dog mechanical banks this example is in 100% original untouched as found condition. It retains a great deal of its original paint with very strong rich color (this bank would benefit from a gently cleaning). There are no cracks, repairs, or touchups and it even has its original trap and key. Great action: place a coin in the dog’s mouth, press the lever and the dog jumps through the hoop and drops the coin into the barrel. A colorful and fun bank with a circus theme in great original condition to add to your collection. Please ask any questions and I will try to answer promptly. Please look at all the other great toys and banks I have listed and will continue to list for several weeks.
