Offered for sale is the rarest version of the cast iron “American Bank” manufactured between 1895 and 1903 by either Wing Manufacturing or Arcade. Measures 4 1/8″ tall x 2 3/4″ wide x 3 deep and is in very nice condition. It came in three variations and the heart design is the hardest to find (all, however, are rated “E” or “Rare” in Pierce’s “Iron Safe Banks”). The combination dial turns smoothly but, surprise! It is a dummy and only for looks: the bank is opened via the key lock and the key is included! He piece shows no cracks, breaks, or other damage, and retains most all of its original nickel plating, though there are areas where it has tarnished and it might grade higher with a good cleaning. Don’t let the opportunity to own this very hard to find bank pass you by!
