Rare Antique Cast Iron Mechanical Bank Frog & Bank Building J. E. Stevens 1872
Cast Iron Mechanical Bank. Pig on Top of Bank Building. All original but missing rear stationary leg & I replaced the small spring under the frogs right foot. With the leg missing, one must hold the frog on the base for it to function properly. Stevenson of Cromwell Connecticut. This style bank may be the first the company produced. Press on the frogs right foot and the mouth opens and eyes move. Place penny in mouth and release the foot, the mouth closes and the coin drops into the bank. Looks to be all original. It has paint wear and missing paint, so please look at the pictures and judge the condition for yourself. The bank is 4 3/8″ Diameter and 4 1/4″ High. Weight is 1# 6 ounces.
