Antique Kyser & Rex Cast Iron Pavillion Still Bank Penny Building Pavilion 1880
RARE ANTIQUE KYSER & REX CAST IRON PAVILLION BANK. Up for sale is a RARE cast iron still bank made by the Kyser & Rex Company in Frankfort, Pennsylvania circa 1880. The bank is a 6-sided building with a dome roof and a coin slot on top. The front and back sides are embossed “BANK” above the arched doors. Collectors refer to this small penny bank as the “pavillion bank”. It stands about 3 1/8″ tall and measures approximately 3″ wide. The bank has its original green and red paint. It’s guaranteed to be an antique Kyser & Rex bank and not a modern reproduction (this bank has not been reproduced). Condition of this collectible Pavillion Bank is VERY GOOD. The paint shows some wear but is mostly intact. I noticed a faint crack along one of the side walls (see last photo) that is likely an old repair (wall is intact when bank is taken apart). Overall, this antique cast iron bank looks great and displays well. It would make a fine addition to any collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I’ve provided and judge condition for yourself. This bank is VERY RARE and seldom comes up for sale, either online or at live auctions.
