C. 1913-1915 Klotz Mfg. Fancy Copper Flashed Hexagon Door Safe Cast Iron Bank
Offered for sale is a very nice antique cast iron and steel “Hexagon Door Safe” still bank, manufactured c. It measures 4 3/8″ tall x 3 5/8″ wide x. Has stood up well for a piece this old: it has no cracks, breaks, or other damage. The front, top, and bottom are cast iron and the sides and back are pressed steel, and all have a copper flashed finish. The combination dial turns freely and the locking mechanism works well (the combination will be sent with the bank). Like any piece this old, there will be small scratches and playwear here and there, but this piece still presents well. There originally would have been a grill that fits into the two holes on the door, but this has been lost somewhere along the way. This is a very hard to find bank (rate “D” in Pierces’ “Iron Safe Banks” reference work), so don’t miss this opportunity to own it. Please check the photos as they are an integral part of the description, and please let me know if you’ve any questions or need further information. The item “C. 1913-1915 Klotz Mfg.
