Creedmor Mechanical Cast Iron Bank
This is a antique 1877 cast iron bank cast by J. Stevens in Cromwell, Conn. He has his original paint but some paint is missing but does work. Please use pictures as reference for his paint but he has on red slacks, navy blue shirt and gray cape. This is in good shape with just a trace of rust on the bottom as seen in picture and the coin cover is missing. It measures 10 1/4″ long x 6 3/4″ high x 3 wide. From page 6 of J. Catalog is was pat. The soldier is firing his gun at the tree trunk. Faintly visible on the flat rock is Creed moor Bank, Pat. The smaller rock used to say “Bowen Series”. I read that when the gun fires a coin at the stump by pushing his foot, a bell will sound. I have not heard it. There is also a mechanism for firing a paper cap at the same time he shoots.
