Antique Mechanical Cast Iron Bank J&E Stevens 1890s WATCHDOG SAFE Columbia Sides
Here is an ANTIQUE CAST IRON MECHANICAL BANK. It is a J & E STEVENS from the 1890’s. The bank is THE WATCHDOG SAFE Bank. There is a combination lock, the combo is 127. There is a watchdog on the front of the bank. The sides have images of COLUMBIA and one side has a lever that works to release the coins into the bank. The original bellows is inside. There are no holes in the leather. The spring and metal mechanics look to be in good condition and the lever works. On the back towards the bottom you can vaguely make out yellowish printed letters that I believe says PATENT APPLIED FOR. The bank measures approx. 4″ x 4 1/2″ x 6.
