LATE 19TH CENTURY AME RI CAN ANTIQUE HUBLEY CAST IRON CAT FIGURE BANK, W/ORIGINAL. PAINT, REAR SLOT SCREW. American vintage mercantile advertising. Wood box crate & bottles. 4 ½” Height x 3″ Width x 1 ¾ Depth. It’s heavy and the burnished metal interior edges of both halves of the cast iron figure, seamlessly meet along this area where the two parts conjoin in the middle. The back of the cat figure features a thin rectangular slot to deposit coins in. There’s also some minor episodes of surface oxidation (slight rusting) on especially the white enamel paint on the cast iron. The enamel paint loss demonstrates that the piece is honest and an authentic antique cast iron bank, rather than a mere reproduction or repainted piece. Fair to Good overall vintage condition.
