Cast Iron LARGE ELK REINDEER Still Penny Bank Antique Gold-Tone AC Williams Stag
Williams Cast Iron Still Bank circa 1910 to 1935 – Large Elk. Here is a majestic and imposing animal bank: 9 tall elk. The coin slot is at the back of the neck and the screw to open the bank is on the right flank. Extreme height to top of antler looks to be over 9.25″ tall, and tip-to-tail length about 5.75″. The floor space or length from foot-to-foot is about 5.25″ long x 1.75″ wide. Weight is about 1.75lbs. Appears to be all original with gorgeous gold-tone paint. The large elk is bank #737 in “The Penny Bank Book” by Andy and Susan Moore. This bank came from the estate of a long-time collector. Bank has a good deal of paint wear, especially on protruding edges as you would expect to happen over time. There are some scratch marks mostly localized near the screw. I myself have never attempted to open it. There is one ugly jut on its otherwise smooth back piece can best be seen jutting out in photos #1,9,10. Overall this piece is very stunning, and is an instant eye-catcher while out on display. Please see pictures for condition. Item in the pictures is the exact item for sale.
