Description : An antique National Safe mechanical Coin Bank with working combination lock, 4-3/4H, possibly made by the National Cash Register Co. Heavy cast panels featuring decorative scrollwork and allegorical figures. Assembly is held together with a central pin and secured with a hex nut on the base. Hinged door reads: NATIONAL / SAFE with additional scrollwork and a central double-combination locking mechanism. Combination will be provided. Some interior panels are stamped 30B ; door interior is stamped 30D. Condition : Good to Very Good overall with honest wear, tarnish, soiling, etc. It has not been cleaned. On the inner door there is a lollipop-form cover: theres a seam visible near the flathead screw, so assuming an early repair (see close-up, photo #8). Additionally, I think the center pin has been replaced at some point. Note : The locking mechanism works presently. The combo will be provided, but this probably isnt something you want to play around with on a daily basis. Attractive form and decoration.
