This antique cast iron Trick Pony is a mechanical bank. It was made for Shepard Hardware around 1885. The patent information is on the bottom of the base. The cast iron is in very good condition. While you can see traces of the original paint, the metal has a nice patina protection. There is very little rust. The bank is in good working condition. There is a screw missing on one side of the base but does create any loose fittings. The locking coin release door on the bottom does not have a key. Circa 1885 and measures 7 1/8″ long x 2 1/2″ wide x 8 tall. Just place a coin in the horses mouth, pull the lever under its tail, and the coin is quickly placed into the feeder and then the bank.
