1877 Cast Iron Multi-Colored “New Creedmore” Mechanical Bank. This cast iron bank features William Tell with rifle in hand aiming at a tree stump. When locked into position, the rifle upon release of lever fies the coin into a tree bank. The bank is similar to the Creedmore Bank, except the company interchanged the figure with William Tell, thus creating the “new” bank. As with other similar James Bowen designed banks, a percussion cap could be used to similar the sound of gun fire. When looking at the multi-colors, I count eight different colors that were used on this bank. The bank works correctly, there is a bell inside the tree trunk. The original coin trap is present but does have damage. There are no cracks, chips and the paint looks great. Please check out the photos, some have been lightened, but they accurately show the condition of the scarce mechanical bank.
