Antique June 23 1896 Patent William Tell Cast Iron Mechanical Bank Works
HERE WE HAVE: A vintage cast iron, mechanical coin bank! Marked on the bottom with “PATENTED JUNE 23 1896″. I don’t see any maker’s marks on it. I think the bank depicts William Tell? When you pull back on the slider on the barrel of the gun and place a coin in front of it then press down on the shooter’s foot, he “shoots” the coin toward the bank I couldn’t get the coin in the slot in 4 tries though! I think this is an older piece, but I’m not sure how to tell if it’s an original piece or not. CONDITION: Acceptable condition for presumed age! The mechanical function is working, although I tried shooting a penny in multiple times and I couldn’t actually get it into the slot! I don’t know if the paint is all original. There are spots of discoloration, scuffs, scratches, and color loss throughout. Some dust buildup in the crevices. MEASUREMENTS: Bank measures about 6 3/4″ tall, 10 1/4″ long, and 3 3/4. The “not as described” return option is not to be used to resolve damaged item cases.
