BILLIKEN Antique 1909 Rare Shoe Advertising Cast Iron Coin Bank Good Luck. Designed by Kansas City Art Teacher, Florence Pretz. Considered a God of Good Luck. Pretz was granted a patent on her design so Billiken is the first Patented God. The Billiken who was elf-like, with pointed ears, a mischievous smile, and a tuft a hair on his pointed head. His arms were short and he was generally sitting with his legs stretched out in front of him. Billiken Banks were made by the A. Also know as the God of How Things Ought To Be. Billiken, banks and statues, were produced in 1909. Rare Shoe advertising on the stomach of the Billiken. Most do not have this. In great antique condition.
