This is the “INDIAN SHOOTING BEAR” Mechanical Bank made by the J. The bank is made of cast iron with an abundance of paint and is in “excellent” condition. T o operate, the slide on top of the rifle is pushed back and a coin is placed on the rifle. This moves the Indian’s head down as if aiming the rifle at the bear. The lever is pressed and the coin is propelled into the bear and the bear’s mouth moves in surprise. To reset the bank the Indian’s head is pushed back to its upright position. The Stevens’ coin trap is included. Originally, it was known as the “Bear Hunt” bank and was one of Steven’s leading sellers due to the subject matter and bright colors. The bank is approximately 10 1/2″ long, 3 1/4″ wide and 7 3/4 high. This bank will make a valuable addition to any collection!
