RARE c. 1890’s House with Chimney Slot Cast Iron Bank Original Finishes
Offered here is the very hard to find “House with Chimney Slot” still bank. Manufactured sometime in the 1880’s or 1890’s by an unknown maker. T measures approximately 2 7/8″ high x 2 13/16″ wide x 2 deep and a. S can be seen from the pictures, is in very good condition: there are. No breaks, cracks or other damage, and it retains most of its original black paint and much of the red, white, and gold highlights. As with any piece of this age, there is some playwear and consequent loss to the finish here and there, but the piece displays very well and is a fine example of a very early architectural bank. This bank is rated “D” in Moore’s The Penny Bank Book. Please check the photos as they are an integral part of the description and provide the best overall picture of condition.
