VERY RARE! C. 1891 Grey Iron Casting Street Car Cast Iron Bank, VG Condition
Offered for sale is a nice example of an original “Street Car” cast iron still bank, manufactured circa 1891 by the Grey Iron Casting Co. It measures about 2 7/8. High x 4 1/2. S can be seen from the pictures, it is in very good overall condition for being 130 years old: there are. No breaks, cracks or other damage and it retains much of its original gold and brown finishes. The turnpin may have been replaced at some point, but if so, it does not detract from the piece as it displays well. This is extremely rare bank (rated “E” in Moores’ The Penny Bank Book) that very rarely comes up for sale, but we’ve priced it to sell. Please check the photos as they are an integral part of the description and provide the best overall picture of condition.
