Description: This is a nice large and heavy painted cast iron penny bank in the form of a boy sitting on a barrel while holding something in his hand (He is actually whittling a piece of wood). The bank is painted in blue, yellow, red, flesh tone, and shades of gray. The boy’s hair is yellow and he is wearing a hat. His lips are red while his face and hands are colored in flesh tone. His clogs are also yellow. The barrel is a dark gray while his pants are a lighter gray color. The bank is made of two halves and held together with a screw. The piece has the coin slot on top of the barrel on the back. The colors appear to be all original and show minimum losses. Origin: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. Size: The base measures 31/2″ by 3 3/4″ and it is almost 9 1/2 high. The bank weighs 5 1/2 pounds. Marks: Unmarked as to the maker on the exterior. We have not opened the piece.
