This bank is guaranteed to be an original antique bank as described. There are no problems such as cracks, chips, replacement parts, repaints, etc. The shovel is original. This is could be considered a semi mechanical bank. The bank has very little paint wear as seen in the pictures and retains lot of the original finish. The dimensions are 5 5/8 inches tall and 4 1/8 inches wide. It is listed in Moore’s bank book and is rated as a “C” bank. Starting to become difficult to find, particularly nice specimens. As a rule, banks made of cast iron command the highest prices. It’s listed in Dictionary of Still Bank by Earnest Long #671. “Captain Kidd”; cast iron; multicolored, 5 5/8 Inches tall, circa 1901. It is rated as a “16”. The grading is a simple progression. 1 is the most common and 20 is the most desirable. Extremely desirable banks have been listed as Rare.
