Centennial celebration of 1876 in Philadelphia. This Liberty Bell bank is made of cast iron with a dark bronze finish and is mounted to a wood base with most of its original paper label on the bottom. APR 75″, and the other side “OLD LIBERTY BELL – 1776 – PROCLAIM LIBERTY with the famous crack down the middle. The bottom has the single nut and bolt that releases the bell from the base. The top hanger has been repaired – it once broke off from the bell and is now glued on (see CU photo #10). It measures 5″ tall on a 4.25″ by 4.5 base, and weighs 1.25 lbs. The 1876 Centennial Expo was held in Philadelphia to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This bank is an authentic souvenir from America’s first World’s Fair.
