Cast iron parlor stove bank
This listing is for an old cast iron (at least I think it’s iron) parlor stove bank. My grandmother inherited it from her mother and I was allowed to take it apart sixty years ago but just once, because it was difficult to get back together. She put it away and I just found it among my mother’s effects. It could use some cleaning, but still has a handsome bronze patina. It has one square notch on two of the belly pieces. There is also a pock mark on the top ornamental screw. I’m not an expert, but I think these are manufacturing defects rather than breaks. Look at the pictures and see what you think. There are no maker’s marks so far as I can see. The bank stands seven inches tall. The base is 2.75 inches square. The item “Cast iron parlor stove bank” is in sale since Friday, August 19, 2016.
