CIRCA 1920’s ORIGINAL BEAR STEALING PIG CAST IRON STILL BANK

In this listing we are offering a guaranteed original circa 1920’s or so Bear Stealing Pig cast iron still bank. An example of this bank is listed & shown page 123. & #1308 in the Andy Moore still bank book. Moore does not attribute the bank to a specific maker. We are guessing that this bank was possibly made by the A. Williams Company in Ohio. But, we are not certain as to the maker. The bank measures 5 1/2 inches tall by 2 5/8 inches deep. The weight is 1 pound & 6/10 of an ounce. The bank has a significant amount of its original painted finish present which is intermingled with a lovely smooth patina from many years of use. The screw holding the bank together is a modern replacement. There are no cracks & no chips & no repairs to the iron. All of the paint present is entirely original. We have left this bank exactly as we found it in a pleasing uncleaned condition. There are some modern recast reproductions which were made of this bank. HOWEVER, WE ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE THAT THIS IS AN ORIGINAL EXAMPLE MADE CIRCA 1920’s or so. Most of the reproductions were made in brass. So, it is especially pleasing to find this original example in cast iron with such an appealing patina. This item is inventory #11,713.
