Antique Cast Iron ” WATCH DOG SAFE BANK” by J. Ice all original Watch Dog Safe. A very attractive “Safe” bank with interesting castings and mechanical and combo lock action. This example is 100% original except it appears to me that the two front feet may have been reattached. Please view photo’s and decide for yourself. I have additional pictures if you were to need them. Still a very nice and hard bank to fined. The paint shows some wear consistent with its 130 plus years of use. The action is simple: put a coin in the slot at the top of the safe and push the lever on the right up; the coin is deposited while the dog opens and closes his mouth. An internal bellows operates a squeaker. Present but not working. A charming bank indeed. The combination (721) lock is original and turns ok. The bank measures 6″ tall x 4 1/2″ wide x 4 1/2 deep.
