Beautiful old cast iron still bank – shaped like a bungalow cottage with a front porch – it is a still Penny bank made by Grey Iron Casting Co. Circa 1918 pictured in Moores Penny Bank Book , it is No. 999 – measures about 3 3/4″ tall and 3 3/8″ wide, 3 3/4 deep; very detailed with nice original paint. There are two children figures sitting on the front steps. An interesting feature is that the dormer roof can be lifted off to empty the bank. The screw holding the roof piece on is a replacement but everything else on this wonderful little bank is all original. It even has darling little flower boxes on the back of the house.
