Offered for sale is a hard to find cast iron “10 c Dime Register” mechanical bank. In the shape of a beer barrel. Manufactured by the Kyser & Rex Company of Philadelphia, PA. The bank measures 4″ high x 2 1/2″ in diameter and is in as-found condition, retaining most of its original nickel plating (though it has tarnished in places). The bank operates thusly: place a coin in the slot, slide the lever, and the coin is deposited while the window displays the new total. He piece shows no repairs, no cracks, no breaks, nor any other damage, and it has stood the test of time very well for a bank that is over 125 years old. All of the parts appear original to the piece, and the mechanism is still strong and works as it should.
