Cast Iron PROFESSOR PUG FROG Still Penny Bank Antique 1905-1912 AC Williams NICE
Williams Cast Iron Still Bank circa 1905 to 1912 – Professor Pug Frog. Great little frog bank. Cast iron made by AC Williams very early 20th C. His underside (mostly the belly below the coat) appears to be painted gold-tone. Pictures don’t do him justice: he looks really great in person in a well-lighted area – see photos #6,7,9 for best view of the gold-color. The coin slot is on top of his head from eye-to-eye and the opening rod connects from back of jacket to front center. He is about 3.25 tall. The flat bottom measures about 2.25″ across and 2″ deep. He weighs about 13.5oz. Appears to be all original. This is bank #311 in “The Penny Bank Book” by Andy and Susan Moore. This bank came from the estate of a long-time collector. Bank has some paint loss and imperfections. He does have some ugly spotted blemishes around the upper-right side (see photos #3-4), but overall he appears to be very nice.
