1883 J&E Stevens “Eagle & Eaglets” mechanical bank. Constructed of cast iron. Place a coin in the mother Eagle’s beak and push down on the lever a snake! The mother eagle spreads her wings and drops down to deposit the coin into the nest. Both the eaglets rise up with mouths open when the mother eagle drops down. The coin plug is missing on the bottom and the bellows have deteriorated (so no squawking). The original wood frame for the bellows is still present inside the mechanism. Also the mother eagle’s eyes are missing. However, it is in very good condition for the age and the mechanism works without issue.
