1890s Large Cast Iron Home Savings coin bank w/coin insert wood dividers, Dayton, Ohio. For your consideration is an 1890s large cast iron Property of Equitable Loan and Savings Assn. Dayton, O coin/still bank. The bank is approximately 10 ½ tall, 6 ½ wide and 8 ½ long. It is very heavy weighing 9 pounds – 2 ounces. It is in excellent condition with no cracks or broken pieces please refer to all photos as they too are part of the description. The bank features 2-coin slots on each side of the bank. When a coin is inserted into the bank it falls into one of the four wood compartments inside the bank. It is rare to find these wood compartments to be found/exist with these banks. The bank features pointed dormers and a padlock to secure its contents (padlock and key included). These banks were issued to patrons with a lock on them.
