Cast Iron, Rare CIRCUS TICKET COLLECTOR Mechanical Bank Original Antique
The banks are being listed with. And a reasonable starting price. The owner of the banks has reluctantly decided to part with much of his collection and he continues that tonight. This is the “CIRCUS TICKET COLLECTOR” Mechanical Bank manufactured by the H. Wallingford, Connecticut, circa 1880’s. It is similar to the Peg-Leg Beggar but is much scarcer. This bank is seldom found with this. On the face and jacket. There was no television or movies in the 1880’s and the circus was a great form of entertainment. Many banks (about 10) use the circus as a theme. Since the ticket collector was an important and necessary part of the Circus, the makers decided that this bank would be an interesting one to produce. Unfortunately, there weren’t many made and thus it is a bank that is very difficult to find. The operation of the bank is simple. When a coin is inserted in the slot in the top of the barrel it causes the head of the man to nod forward in a gesture of appreciation or thanks. The bank is in proper working order and is approximately 4″ long, 4″ high and 2 wide. This charming bank will make a wonderful addition to your collection… The item “Cast Iron, Rare CIRCUS TICKET COLLECTOR Mechanical Bank Original Antique” is in sale since Sunday, February 21, 2016.
