Of the Mechanical Banks and is called the “GIRL IN VICTORIAN CHAIR”. While one of the smaller of the mechanical banks, it has a quaint charm and appeal and is quite rare and hard to find. It has long held the fascination of collectors. It was made by the W. MA circa 1880’s. Famous bank collector John Meyer did a cartoon of himself dreaming of the day when he would finally acquire this subtle prize. The bank is in. Condition and is truly a. You will probably never see this bank again, especially in this condition. The last picture shows the estimated value from Dan Morphy’s Official Price Guide. The casting of the bank is very nicely done showing tassel or fringe like indentations from the chair seat to the bottom. The back of the chair has lace like markings. It’s a proportionate diminutive bank and the girl and dog are nicely made. The girl has blonde hair and blue eyes, natural color skin and the dress is painted red. The bank has a very definite charm and would be a perfect addition to any collection. Place a coin at the top of chair and then push the tiny lever on the back and you will see the puppy move up to nuzzle the girl on the cheek. At the same time the coin is deposited into the bank. The overall height is 4 inches. It is two and one eighth inches wide and two and one eighth inches deep at the base of the chair. The bank is in proper working order. A part of your collection.
