Bearing the original paint, the bank features a seated man wearing brown pants, yellow vest, and black coat. The chair is marked on both sides for Tammany Bank. Tammany Hall was a New York City political organization, and William Boss Tweed was its corrupt leader. He was jailed for embezzlement in 1873 and is thought to be the inspiration for this model. In overall very good condition with all mechanical parts moving smoothly. As pictured, there is loss and wear to the original paint. This condition is consistent with age and use. Measures 5 3/4″ tall x 4 1/4″ back to front x 3 wide. This is a handsome bank and would make a fine addition to your collection.
