Antique Humpty Dumpty Mechanical Bank. Presented for your consideration is this neat mechanical bank. The bank is made of cast iron and is titled Humpty Dumpty Bank. Produced by the Shepard Hardware Company in Buffalo, NY, this bank features a bust of Humpty Dumpty wearing a white and red clown suit. Back of the bank is marked with “Humpty Dumpty Bank” and the bottom is marked with Made by Shepard Hardware Co. All markings are in raised lettering. There is also a list of patent dates on the underside of the bank with the latest being June 17,’84. The bank is in working condition and works by placing a coin in the hand and raising the arm with the small lever in the back of the bank. When the lever is pressed the hand raises up to the mouth and deposits the coin and the eyes roll back in the head. Guaranteed to authentic and antique. This neat bank would make a great addition to any cast iron or mechanical bank collection! Unsure if the paint is original to the bank. Some light paint wear is present from age and use.
