This is an original antique cast iron bank of a monkey, cat and dog. It has Pat June 18, 1882 on the back. “Organ bank” on front. It is a mechanical bank and the side crank does run, although somewhat rough. You can hear a bell ring inside it, and the dog and cat go in a circle. The monkey does not move when the crank is run, but his hands do go up and down when lifted (see photos). Unfortunately I do not find the little bottom piece (see photo). I will keep looking for it. I’m not an expert on antiques but can send more photos if needed. It belonged to an elderly friend of mine – it was her Grandmothers way back in the 1880’s. It has been stored for many years and is in need of a good cleaning. I will let the purchaser clean it up with some tender loving care!! I don’t want to ruin it.
