An antique cast iron mechanical bank in working condition. The top of the bank rotates, featuring either a mouse or a mouse balanced on top of a cat. The bank is set by rotating the mouse to the top, then placing a coin on top. A small lever lower center is pressed and the cat and mouse spins to the top, flipping the coin into the bank below. We have a video of the bank in operation below. This is an original bank, not a reproduction. The reproductions are common but originals in complete working condition are very rare. Unfortunately, we are missing the base pedestal. Without the base pedestal, the coins fall through the bank. This bank is otherwise completely intact with no repairs, cracks, or breaks. The existing paint is original. The fading and discoloring of the existing paint, as well as the natural browning of the bare iron, demonstrate the age of this bank. The dimensions are 3″ deep, 11.5″ tall and 5.5 wide. These days, a bank like this may be the safest place to keep your change. Below is a video of the bank in operation.
