Antique Uncle Sam Mechanical Bank. Presented for your consideration is this hard to find antique mechanical bank. This cast iron bank was made by Shepard Hardware & Company in Buffalo, New York in 1886. S sitting at his feet. One of Uncle Sam’s hands is sticking out so that it can hold a coin and the opposite hand is holding an umbrella. Behind the umbrella is a push button. When this button is pressed the bag opens and Uncle Sam’s hand deposits the coin in the bag. At the time of listing the bank is in proper working order. The front of the pedestal shows an eagle with a banner reading “Uncle Sam” over him. The sides of the bank are marked with “Bank” in raised lettering. However, the word is upside down on one side. The back of the pedestal is where the coins can be accessed when the bank is full. On the bottom it is marked with Pat. Offered in all original condition and guaranteed to be antique. This neat bank would make a great addition to any mechanical bank or patriotic themed collection! Light oxidation is on the bottom of the bank. Mild paint wear from age. No dents, dings or cracks.
