From a notable collector’s Dallas estate, here’s an adorable HUBLEY FIDO ON A PILLOW cast iron still bank designed by illustrator Grace Drayton, who gave us many Hubley Designs, Dolly Dingle modern comic strips and the Campbell Soup Kids. Hubley made these sitting on or off pillows (his here is cast separately). All the color is cold-painted by hand. No Hubley mark on pillow, but die stamped 32. Condition is remarkable for c. 1914-17, WWI, cast in Lancaster, PA. No loose parts, original screw; the puppy must be detached to retrieve coins so it has its natural looseness.
